PRESENTATION OF THE EXHIBITION

In the autumn of 2021, after the death of my parents, I resumed my K-shaped journeys and trips to the countryside, rediscovering the endless array of greens and ochres typical of the season, the blinding light and the noisy silence of the sea, the patterns formed by the sediments in the delta and a wild coast dotted with emerald greens that I discovered in Cap Corse. All this provokes in me a host of feelings and sensations that lead me to the creation of the pieces that I present today.

In creating these ceramics I stick to the traditional ceramic craft, I prepare the paste mixtures myself, to which I often add clay and sand sediments collected during the journeys, I knead by hand, I use glazes of my own formulation with vegetable ashes and I fire them at a temperature of 1300 degrees.

The design is austere and minimalist, the finishes are free of shiny glazes, using the colours and textures of the pastes themselves to facilitate a better blending of the pieces with the natural or architectural environment they may occupy. I pay special attention to the design of lids and closures, as well as introducing elements foreign to the ceramic itself that are randomly crossed during their creation process and add an encrypted message to the final result. Sustainability has a special importance in all my work, therefore in the creation process the pastes are 60% reused from other works and workshops, the glazes are of my own formulation with a high percentage of recovered plant ashes. The firings along with the entire work process are carried out entirely with electricity from solar accumulators and most of the work tools come from recycling and self-manufactured.
